About
NPHS Theatre
"Act well your part. There all honor lies." -Alexander Pope
The NPHS Theatre Department is a division of the NPHS Visual & Performing Arts Magnet. It provides a comprehensive theatre arts education in acting, musical theatre, and technical theatre. Students can participate in the audition/interview selection process for acting, musical theatre and technical theatre or take basic theatre or technical classes without auditioning to see if theatre interests them.
The department also participates in the International Thespian Society. This honor society for theatre arts performers provides adjudication and workshop experiences at a district and state level at formal theatre festivals. Students also receive honors and awards for participation in production work and other theatre experiences. In addition, juniors and seniors can attend the Florida Theatre Conference to auditions for college and university programs. It is a great opportunity for those who plan to pursue theatre beyond high school.
